Jeff Mostyn “The Chairman” Official Book Launch At Vitality in Bournemouth

This week I was invited to attend an official book launch at Vitality in Bournemouth for Jeff Mostyn’s candid book “The Chairman – The Man Who Saved AFC Bournemouth”, which is an eye-opening account of his tenure at Dean Court.

Jeff is an absorbing speaker. His passion for AFC Bournemouth is unmistakable, and his storytelling always tends to bring the club’s darkest and brightest moments vividly to life. When he spoke about the now-famous moment where he effectively saved the club with a £100,000 cheque, it just drove home the significance of such a pivotal moment in the club’s history.

“The Chairman” dives deep into that journey. It charts Mostyn’s role in helping guide Bournemouth from the brink of collapse to the heights of English football, highlighting key decisions, relationships and turning points along the way. The return of Eddie Howe, for example, is portrayed as one of the defining moments in the club’s rise—a move that helped spark an extraordinary climb through the divisions.
