About Us

The Leading AFC Bournemouth Online Content Creators

Back of the Net is the leading Cherries fan podcast and Youtube channel. Founded as an audio pod in 2016 and making the transition on to Youtube in 2019, our mission has always been to bring fans closer to AFC Bournemouth – with match analysis, raw fan reaction and a plethora of features which cover the aspects of the club which might otherwise go unnoticed.

RAW

Back of the Net is headed up by Sam Davis, Tom Jordan and Mr Tigz – all avid Bournemouth fans since the early 1990’s.

We are the fastest-growing Cherries YouTube channel & podcast with over 25K subscribers, with seven million video views, hundreds of thousands of podcast downloads, plus an engaged and brilliant social media following across X, Facebook, Insta & TikTok.

FUN

The platform has enabled us to showcase our love and passion for Boscombe to a wider, more global audience.

Our aim is to help shake off the stereotypes of our club being “little old Bournemouth” by providing a professional but fun way for fans to follow the Cherries with voices that reflect the sentiment of the fanbase.

REAL

We go to every game, providing raw insight on the 90 minutes that we’ve just witnessed – speaking to fans inside & outside the ground.

We also pride ourselves in providing alternative views, with ex-players, journalists, broadcasters, and even fans of other clubs – often joining the conversation to express their views on all things Bournemouth.

Over £10K Supporting Charities

Back of the Net regularly run and promote fundraisers for deserving local charities. In 2021, we raised over £5000 for Melanoma Focus, in memory of former Cherries player & coach Brian O’Donnell. This culminated in a golf day with Harry Redknapp, Matt Le Tissier, and Tony Pulis.

We also supported Ben Phillips’s walk to St Mary’s Stadium and back, in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK, which raised £4300.

We also donated over £2K in 2020 to the Forest Holme Hospice via a Charity Golf action, where Harry Redknapp also took part. Cherries fan Simon Kay and Chris Root won the prize, for 18 holes with the former-Bournemouth manager.

We Are Not For Profit

Back of the Net is not a vanity mission, it’s a platform that is being built to showcase the best of being an AFC Bournemouth fan – it’s raw, it’s honest, it’s fun, and it’s real.

We are a “not for profit” fan channel. We all have full time jobs, and any monies that are made (through ad revenue, sponsorship, or fan donations) are pumped back into the channel.

Join us on our journey by subscribing on Youtube and sharing our social posts – it’s going to be a fun ride!
