Back of the Net’s Content Plan For 2023/24

Back of the Net’s Content Plan For 2023/24

It has been over seven years since Back of the Net started producing podcasts to Cherries supporters, and next season, we’ll be there once again to cover AFC Bournemouth’s seventh season in the Premier League with the aim of making Boscombe fans feel closer to their club than they ever have before.

For the upcoming campaign, we plan to go bigger – developing different types of shows, getting more supporters involved, and improving the quality of the content that is produced. We’ve also taken on board the feedback that we’ve received online over the past season, plus we’ve gone through the anonymous messages that were sent to us through our online contact forms. One of the common observations was the desire for Back of the Net to remain fun, raw, and real – so that’s what we hope will underpin everything we put out next season.

So here’s what we’re going to doing…

The Big Match Preview

This season, we’ll keep our previews as fast paced and as tight as possible (no-one wants an overly long show talking about hypotheticals!), so, on the day before match day, we’ll release a video which speaks to the opposition, goes through the stats and facts of the game, the past performances, plus takes a look at the predicted line-ups.

Full Time Cherries

Our legendary post-match fan cams will be the first video you see after every game, so straight after a match finishes, we’ll be outside the ground to take in some raw opinion from match-going supporters – presented by Sam, Tom, Tigz and Ben.

Match Vlog

The day after the game gives fans another chance to relive the good and bad of yesterday’s action via our matchday vlogs, where you can expect stupidity, laughs, and hopefully – we’ll even capture a goal or two.

Second Look

This season, we’re going to make the Second Look shorter, probably about half an hour long – so they are more digestible. The weekly audio podcast however will remain an hour long though, as for the first time, we’ll also be including audible views from our fan cams, meaning your Monday morning drive to work will contain the raw sounds from the weekend as well as some detailed analysis.

The Premier League Show: View from the South

We piloted this show during the last campaign, and this season, it’s back for good! We’ll be going through the weekend’s games and commenting on the main talking points from the latest matchweek, plus, it presents an opportunity for us to take a sideways look at the bizarre Twitter/social media takes on the Cherries that we’ve collated from AFC Bournemouth outsiders.

Away Day Review

We’re back with a re-jigged and refreshed Away Day review show, which aims to find the best away experience in the Premier League based on five key categories. Which club will come out on top? We’ll upload this during the week after the last away game.

The Agenda

On various dates throughout the season, we’ll bring you “The Agenda” – where fresh faces every week will get together to discuss the latest topics on and off the pitch, in a fun and relaxed style. We’ll have a mixture of live and recorded shows which will enable Bournemouth supporters from all over the world to get involved and chat Cherries once again.

The Website

This season, with the absence of Dorset Live and The Athletic, we’ve decided to revamp our website and encourage people to write their own thoughts and opinions right here – a written free-for-all – where everyone has a space to express their views.
